warm necks

Still don't know what to make those loved ones? How about something to keep their neck warm? For the gentleman who has everything, who is usually on call as a babysitter, who drops off coffee for you unexpectedly, how about a reversible cable scarf out of charmed. It will take 3 balls. I know it is a little pricey, but he is totally worth it. And, since you can't wait until Christmas to give it to him, just go ahead, give it to him early. (Yes, that would be my father-in-law.)
For all the others with cold necks? How about a neckwarmer out of scrumptious Malabrigo chunky. I really had no idea how wonderful this yarn was until miss Kim sent me a skein, along with a very cool button. Thank you so much, Kim! (There are a lot of neckwarmers being made over at Chronic Ennui and TLCknits.)
Not only did I make one for Libby, I also made one made for myself .
How about that for yardage? Two gifts out of one skein? Gotta love that! Super fast, super easy, and I can almost guarantee, it is quicker to knit than to photograph yourself wearing it.

And now, after looking at the other photos, I am off to move my button to make it tighter.

I love those neckwarmers! That might be just the thing for using up small bits of yarn when I'm getting down to the wire on my yarn fast...

of course i love the neckwarmers, but really?! a father-in-law who does all of that? could he maybe, pretty please, start a tutorial for other father-in-laws? not that mine's not great, but really?! coffee delivery??

The cabled scarf is quite beautiful and the new owner is, I'm sure, very deserving. Your neckwarmers are so delightful that I've added the pattern to my queue - also to be made from Malabrigo :o)

Oh, what a great father-in-law! Your admiration for him is so touching. It reminds me of how my grandfather used to dote on my little brother and sister and hang out with my mom (his daughter-in-law). That scarf is lovely -- can I possibly squeeze in another project?

The neckwarmers look fabulous -- especially with Libby's coat. Twins!

I really like your Father-in-Law scarf. Which pattern is it? Keanalee (who is apparently much smarter than I am) found it, but I can't. LOL!

The neckwarmer is a great idea! Often a scarf is really bulky inside my jacket and I get hot in the car and take it off, then freeze when I go out again.

The scarf and neckwarmers look great....but I'm crying over your father-in-law! Oh how I wished I had one like that. It's the holiday season so I'm not gonna go there, but let's just say in our family it's the woman's (or in my FIL's language "the girl's) DUTY to get the coffee... ALWAYS! You are so lucky!

Those neckwarmers are great. I made that pattern as well as a baby cabled rib one I found on Ravelry that looks so cute I keep it on once I've come inside.

Not only is Malabrigo one of my all-time fave yarns . . but a neck warmer would be SO awesome! And yes, I think I could use one here in Florida . . . a scarf is a bit out of place, but sometimes it -does- get cold enough. Thanks and . . it's beautiful!!

Gorgeous scarf and neckwarmers. The scarf looks so comforting, such a lovely squashy pattern and yarn.
