Hello and Happy New Year.
It is a little slow going over here. I think I sort of lost some steam after the holidays. Lately, I have been happy just sitting perusing the blogosphere. Really, I wish I could do it all day. I love reading about every ones new projects and new years resolutions. One of mine, was to get back on track, for the rest of the school year, with our cookie of the week.
The requested cookie was for lemony snickets from Melana. They were such a huge hit, my children asked if I would make them again. My husband said they were the best Christmas cookie I have ever made. There is noway these will be a Christmas time only cookie. They are just too good to make only one time a year.

As far as my new project is concerned, I think I need a jump start. This is the start of the tangled yoke. You've seen it around, I am sure. In fact, as of today, 141 people have made this, 264 people are knitting it and 1754 people have it in their queue, over at Ravelry! I know I will love it, but I just can't get excited about knitting it. Maybe after I get through the ribbing. I sure hope so.
Happy Friday to you all.

OOH! Those cookies look yummy!!! Also, I can't wait to see your progress on the Tangle Yoke. I'm wanting to make it too - just haven't sucked up and bought the Felted Tweed. I guess I could get something different, but I LOVE the felted tweed. What yarn are you using??????

  3. I'm knitting it in Silky Wool. I'm up to the cable yoke, but I'm waiting to dive in until after the kids are back in school since that part requires concentration. I have to admit that it's a very boring knit until that point. This is one that I'm knitting for the end result, not for the process.

  4. I'm knitting that sweater too! The ribbing about ended it for me, it was soooooooooooooo boring. I'm on sleeve number one and have to put it down and pick something else up often. I can't wait to get to the top and see how the intricate detail works up. What yarn are you using? It's beautiful.

  5. Hi Leslie,
I love anything lemon it's my weakness indeed! Your peppermint baking pieces were my thing over the holidays. It's a good thing they aren't available all year! Good thing is you only need a few at a time.

I am making the twisted cable hat that you just made. I don't understand this increase round. Is it that you make 2 M1 stitches in a row or do you do the whole round twice? Sorry to bother you on this .. I am in Puerto Vallarta and I have ripped it out several times.

I lost a bit of steam after Christmas too, it's been so lush just sitting doing nothing, watching movies. But I need to get motivated again.

I'm excited for your project. That color is lovely, I am so attracted to gray lately.

  8. Drooling over the lemony goodness AND the beauty of the grey wool as well. I understand the feeling of slogging through, but I am confident you will look terrific in Tangled Yoke once it is complete.

The tangled yoke looks like the kind of sweater that becomes a staple in the wardrobe. Soft and snuggly and very classic. And that color is wonderful. Keep knitting... we'll cheer you on!

  22. I like any cookie with lemon in it. The pistachio lemon trees are my traditional Christmas cookie. It's not really a Christmas cookie, perse; but, it's the only time I make it. Huh. I think everyone who casts on for the TY talks about it being something of a slog when they first cast on. You'll find the mojo again. Happy New Year!

  25. Yummy looking cookies, Les. I spoke to your Mom yesterday. She LOVES her new quilt but doesn't want to use it at the beach. She says it's much too pretty. Happy New Year!

  26. The Tangled Yoke gets much faster after the ribbing. You zoom through all that stockinette and join the sleeves, and suddenly, you're ready for cable fun!

    I love mine.

My response to the end of the focus and drive of holiday knitting is a serious case of Startitis! As if I didn't already have enough UFOs. Hopefully we'll all be able to get back on track soon. The Tangled Yoke is such a great pattern, I'm sure yours will be a beauty.

  48. I love that Tangled Yoke pattern, hmmm, maybe I should join you, although I really hate knitting rib in spite of the fact that I really like the look of rib. Life can be so cruel!

The lemon cookies look so nice, I really need to work out how to convert american recipes to metric.
