project spectrum

I started a couple of new projects last week being inspired and motivated by project spectrum.
I was lucky enough to receive yarn for both projects from a couple of dear friends.  Above is Sundara Yarn in dahlia, that I received from Melana back in December.  This yarn has been calling my name ever since.  I had never knit with sundara yarns, and wow is it ever lovely.  A basic cast on of 64 stitches with a baby cable pattern.
Kim sent the ONline Linie 194 Solo yarn for a sweet scarf for Libby.  Oodles, and oodles of soft little ruffles.
I had the hardest time getting started.  I still am not positive that I am doing it correctly, but there really is no more time to waste. The end of this month marks the end of  this triad of project spectrum.  The scarf should be easy to complete, but the socks?  I am going to give it my best shot.
The eggs are dyed, the chocolate bought, and we are expecting snow.  Now that  just doesn't seem right.

Oh, how pretty! Everything matches! You're so good at these color-themed projects. The ruffles look so pretty; I was never able to master it.

Just noticing your new banner too. Nice!

Happy Easter!

Ah, it will be a scarf! We still need to do the eggs and then we are set. Sorta seems funny doing all this stuff with winter jackets on!

i keep staring at that amazing scarf in progress and trying to figure out how the ruffles came to life like that...the yarn looks almost tape-like and the ruffles seem like they are so delicate...but however it works that scarf is so cool! lucky libby!

Cute socks! I love Sundara yarn. She has an amazing eye for color. Yeah - Easter and snow don't seem to mix! Easter is just too early this year. I hope you all enjoy your holiday!

You're a magician, Leslie! How *do* you turn beautiful string into beautiful wearables? The scarf has me flummoxed. In any case, I loe the intensity of color.

Oooo, I have to admit that pink is one of my favorite colors!
Snow? On Easter? no, that doesn't seem right...but I guess that's what happens when it comes so early this year. Hope you have a good one!

Love that Sundara, the baby cable is a great choice. I advise you to use some nylon on the heel as I just had to throw out a pair of merino socks with a giant gaping hole!

Ooodels and oodels looks so soft and fun. That scarve will add a lot of personality to an outfit.

Oooh that ruffle is lovely, how do you do that? Is it the yarn itself, or the stitch you're doing?
Here's wishing you a lovely Easter.

I really like the idea of cabled socks. Seems very ambitious!

Thanks for the heads up on project spectrum. That sounds like fun motivation.

I love the colors and soft ruffles! So pretty! Good luck on the socks... I will be rooting for you!

PS : We just got a snowstorm too. But the oodles of chocolate made it at least bearable...

I really like the idea of the ruffle yarn as a nifty little novelty scarf (or trim at the bottom of a sweater) type project, but I wouldn't have the foggiest idea of how to start it all smoothly. Yours looks great with none of the wonkiness I'd be worried about.

I am trying to finish random PS projects (and many others, sigh.) at the moment too. I had a skein of Dahlia, but it didn't look like your skein at all! I am liking the pattern you chose to pair the dahlia yarn with. And I think the scarf will be fabulous!
