notes from the weekend

While trying to photograph a quilt, one must always lie down and finish a book.  Note to self: read more.
Giving feels so good.  Note to self:  remember to tell of my plan to knit for others the month of July.
A trip to the strawberry patch resulted in zero strawberries, but a gorgeous view of fields of flowers.  Note to self:  strawberry picking is usually over before the second week of July.
Sandwiching a quilt together takes a lot of patience.  Not to self:  remember to tell about my hand stitched quilt top that I did not hand stitch.
Homemade cherry pies purchased from the Farmers Market and topped with ice cream are good to the very last drop.  Note to self:  make a pie.
Dinner's served outside are delightful.  Note to self:  Soak up every minute.
Hope you took good notes from the weekend!

That sounds like a perfect weekend! I always love your photos. The mitts are beautiful; what yarn did you use? Libby's skirt - adorable! And I'm definitely going to need to check out that book, although.... faced with reading or knitting, you know what I'll always choose....

I LOVE fingerless gloves and am continually knitting up pairs of "Fetching" (from knitty.com) to give away to friends. Do you mind me asking what pattern you used? I've only been hanging around your blog for a couple of months, so maybe I missed a previous post about them.

Terrific notes, Leslie! LOVE the picture of your son with that plate - that photo would win a contest, I'd think. Super :o) Looks like he enjoyed it completely! Wish my Ben ate pie - he's so picky. The younger one, Zack, will scarf down anything you put him front of him. LOL I read that book - disturbing but good read.

Enjoyed your post!
Tanya, whose farmers market is tomorrow :o)

Just saw your Evangelines over on Ravelry, and noticed that they only took you a day to knit?? My are you quick!! Love the quilt by the way. The thought of hand stitched quilts without the handstitching really appeals to me!
