waiting for wednesdays

I have always known that I have been obsessed and addicted to knitting. But jeez. Now waiting for Wednesday, is all I will be able to think about. I read how Kristen was going to post the next "clue" to the mystery sock at midnight. Last night. I wanted to stay up and wait. Seriously. But then thought I best not. Because then I would just want to stay up and knit. Which wouldn't be good.  However, I should have stayed up. Because I spent half the night awake wondering what the new clue was.  Seriously.
I printed the new "clue" early this morning.  But now I am just too tired to even work on it.
To hold me over on the days where I am waiting, I started some socks for the boys.  I bought a big ball of Opal while at a recent trip to my lys with Keana. Hopefully I will be able to get two pairs out of it.
I know that I should be working on a vest.  And I will.  But October does feel like the month for socks.
Have a great day!

You made my day!
PS I was up all night too, worrying that there'd be a MAJOR mistake or that everyone would hate it!

Oh I love the yarns. The mystery sock looks so soft. I was at a sit and knit this morning at my lys and was knitting the "second" sock. Yes it is the month for socks.

that striped sock is gorgeous. I was just at the gap outlet and they have the prettiest striped scarf, but I am so not ready for stripes! Maybe I can head to my not so local lys and find some striping yarn to satisfy my need for stripes!!

I really need to get cracking on mine. I have the yarn but have not cast on yet... yours are great! I am so glad you are having fun with Socktoberfest this year ;)

If I knew how to knit socks, I'd so be in the knit along. october seems like the perfect month to knit socks.

I just came over to tell you I JUST finished the cookies from down below (delicious).... and now I'm gonna get sucked into this sock thing. Because apparently, the answer to that age old question is "Yes, Mom, I would jump off a bridge. If Leslie told me to."

LOL, I was just posting about the KAL and came over here and saw yours up. You were doing the same thing as me last night ;)
Love the color of yours, what yarn is it, it looks super soft. I feel a bit obsessed with socks right now too (I should be knitting bunnies) and I cast on for a plain pair with Patons Kroy sock yarn I got at Michael's. I've also just bought my first Noro yarn, 1 skein of Cash Ihora and I'm making mittens from the Last Minute Gifts book. So much lovely knitting :)

I agree about October being sock friendly month. I am definitely in the mood to knit some...I have never tried opal yarn but have heard wonderful things about it. I might have to buy some.

Your fingerless gloves are great. I thought I'd knit all I need for Christmas but no... I'm passing the ones I already did on to Hillary and starting on a new batch of Toasties. The pattern layout is the best I've ever seen.

Your socks are great. I must, must get a pair on the needles. I just struggle so much with the gauge in the beginning!

I love the color you chose for the socks - Dove Grey or is it soft blue? I can't seem to get mine started. Too many other projects seem to need my attention. I hope to catch up though. The Opal socks are very cute.

Your pictures just make me want to knit!

Your socks look great. It looks like you are a bit further than I am on mine. (I was excited also.:))

Your blog is the BEST! What sock yarn are you using for the light blue one? It is the most beautiful color.
Thanks for such great photos and projects.

So October is the month for socks, huh? If you or any of your knitting friends need the practice, you can knit me a pair. Any color will do...I'm not picky.

The first thing Lily said when she got up yesterday was "is the next clue up?". Do you think she's a child obsessed? :D

love that blue/grey yarn choice btw!

I kinda did the same thing, and then realizing my at home printer is out of ink there was no point in staying up!

I started the second clue last night Duh, this part will take a little longer, I am such a klutz.

October is the month for socks! I have three pair, in various stages of completion, on the needles right now!

Every time I read your blog, the beautiful images make me wish I could knit!

I'm so needle-impaired, not to mention too impatient. I'll just sit here and gaze at your yarn and WIPs instead. Don't mind me :-)

Ha, I did the same thing! I ended up getting up to see what the pattern was, and did 1 repeat, but had to force myself to go to bed. Is that an addiction?

I'm hoping to carve out a wee bit of time later today to get to work on clue #2 myself... fun stuff.

Love the distraction socks, I should get me some of that stripey Opal (I only have a big skein of a lovely solid ivory, hopefully to be used for a pair of Anniversay Socks, you know, "one of these days...") but I love stripes, almost too much...

Happy knitting-
ali

I am working on Kirsten's sock as well, and I couldn't stay awake for the midnight clue distribution, I can't stay awake for anything these days!

I'm totally into the TTL Mystery Sock KAL too. This is my first KAL, and I'm excited about it too!!! Your's look great!

Jodi said...

Oh no, you were too tired to work on it?!? That's sad, but also too cute. :-)

I need to go and join the mystery sock before it is too late! (Or is it already too late!)

I've got a few too many projects on the needles, which is the only reason why I've been hesitating!

Cinnamonamon said...

That sounds like my kind of obsessiveness... ;) The mystery sock looks fun, and the opal sock looks like great mindless knitting -- I love how my opal sock yarn held up -- I bet it will be great for your boys. ;)

I am new to your blog, which was send to me by a friend.
I am trying to track down the pattern and yarn for the Bolero Jacket by Debbie Bliss.
Which book of Debbie's contains the pattern? thank you. Jane
