on my needles

I mentioned a while ago that I started something for myself.
It is the Moorland Honeycomb cardigan from Classic Elite.  I have changed the pattern a bit.  I didn't feel like doing the 1x1 rib for 6" at the beginning, so I changed it to a 1" garter edge.  I am also going to make the neckline a little higher.
Have you ever worked on something and thought that it was too small? Yep.  Me too.  I will be shocked if this thing fits me.
However, I started the right front.  And if nothing else, my sister will inherit another sweater.
Have a fantastic weekend!!!

Your lucky sister! It makes me cringe to spend that much time knitting something so nice and then having to gift it!

It looks really sophisticated with such great color! I hope it ends up fitting well enough that you don't have to give it to your sister!

Am wondering if current project on the needles (80% finished) will be too small. Don't care. Will blog and stretch the snot out of it, if I have to. Have loved knitting it though. It's Lima from the Mirasol Project

Very beautiful. I'm such an impatient knitter. I don't think I could hang in there that long..
keep us posted. I can't wait to see how it fits.

Owwww. What a gorgeous cardigan. I love the long, fitted sleeves. And the color you've chosen is beautiful, will look great with those jeans and boots required of a winter, and later, fall, too.

I imagine you've a look and feel about your knitting for size and fit, comfort and style. See what we "see" when you finish and stand before the mirror. You'll know if there you are.

Peace out!

And which sister is smaller than you, my dear? It looks like a beauty and I'm crossing my fingers that it fits. Wasn't the weather today gorgeous?!

When am unsure of the size, I usually start with the sleeves(if I don't want to swatch).
Nice colour you are working on. I bet it will turn out just as fine.

have a nice weekend.

This is such a beautiful color you are knitting it out of! I bet it will fit!

Pretty color, and I like the pattern. Is the sizing based on bust measurement or garment measurement? Sometimes they switch them; that might be a reason for it to be a few inches too small. I feel a little badly doing it, but I hope your sister is unlucky!

Ha! I usually have a sneaking suspicion that what I'm knitting will be too big. I blame my loose gauge.

I finished my "chunky knit beany" this afternoon, thank you for the inspiration and the instructions. I had this lovely wool for years without daring to spoil it with my limited knitting-knowledge. You can see it (and me) in my bilingual blog http://scents-and-senses.blogspot.com/2009/01/etwas-warmes-braucht-der-mensch.html I am curious of the progress with your new sweater. Warm and sunny greetings from Southwest-Ireland Eliane

You've been hiding your knits! This is so pretty; too bad it's coming out small. Well, good for your sister, I guess....

Hilary said...

Oh, I HATE when that happens! Of course, I refuse to frog and then I force myself to wear the too-small sweater anyway. You can always try blocking the heck out of it! Blocking does do wonders.
