Spring is here, pretty much in full force around here.
Fall is my absolute favorite season, hands down.  With summer and winter coming close behind.  (Yes, I love winter.  I think it must be for the knitting.) And then comes spring.  What is there not to love about spring?  Pink trees, that green lush grass, flowers that have been underground for months, popping up like gifts. And lets not forget how nice it is to eat dinner in the daylight and wake up to sunshine.  Yep, I am pretty much loving that it is finally spring.
We all loved our cookie of the week.  So much so that I am making them again, today.  For the third time.  Sandy posted this recipe for shortbread meltaways last week.  But they will be forever referred to as "Sandy's shortbread meltaway cookies" in our house.

Happy Thursday.

  3. I'm a fall favorite, spring next, winter third sort of girl myself! And I wish summer would be shorter, don't like the heat and humidity at all. Hope you enjoy the day! We are expecting much improved weather here in CT today.

    those cookies look mighty tempting...

  4. Happy spring! The cookies look delicious.

I'm with you on how great fall, winter, and spring are. Summer, though... we have a love-hate relationship. It would help if I lived further north!

  7. I knew if anyone 'needed' this recipe, it was you! I'm glad you all liked them so much.

I love Spring too. I feel like I get a bit of the knitting bug in Spring, more so than in the winter though!

  8. I always say that Fall is my favorite season, and it is. But when every new season hits I am usually SO ready for it. We have had a very gray, wet winter here and we are loving any Spring sun and flowers we can get. I love winter for the knitting too!

  10. I love spring as well - so much life! I'm a garden person, and so there's a lot of work to be done in the garden in spring, but the effort is so worth it!

I love your photos! And thanks for the recipe!

  11. Oh, I'm jealous! San Francisco doesn't seem to "do" transitional seasons. The past few days have been an unheard of 85 degrees, and today it's 65 and potentially about to rain. Very confusing if you ask me.

  12. I am also a fall girl. But spring is making me pretty happy too!

I love recipes that have the name of someone in them. :)

Man, I've been meaning to make peanut butter cookies for like, 3 weeks! What is wrong with me?

  17. OK. Do you know that I JUST spent $60 on flipflops because of the promise they would give me a smaller butt? This is how (gullible) desperate I am to get rid of this extra 10 on my rear. Which I'm blaming on the cookies, btw. There I am, all innocent, minding my own business, not even thinking about cookies, when I come over here and WHAMMO. Now I need a cookie. And those look pretty darned good.

I hope these flip flops work.

  19. I love fall best too but spring is close behind. I guess I like the transitional seasons. Means things are changing...which I like:)

I am so going to make those cookies, darn you. Anything shortbread is for me! Thanks.

  20. Ah, I love winter despite not being able to stay warm all six months of it (I kid, but in NE it is sometimes that long). It makes the other seasons all the more poignant for showing off all that winter lacks.

As for cookies... those are mighty fine looking cookies, though I'm not sure I've ever met a cookie I didn't like!

I like spring but I despise eating when it's daylight. Most days I don't even start dinner until it's dark and then I realize it's already 8:00! Drives me nutty.

Thanks for sharing the recipe. I'll have to try after such a rave review. Now I just have to figure out where to get toffee chips.

  28. mmm - shortbread! i'll be trying those! spring is hard around here - we mostly get mud and the temps go from freezing to HOT with no beautiful 60's anywhere to be found.

  29. oh those cookies look GOOD!

we had spring - for a few days - and then yesterday we got another blizzard. 4 inches of snow and ice. :(

  30. Oooh, it was hot yesterday, no baking as we have not turned on the AC yet, but it's a bit cooler today, so I think I HAVE to make a batch of these today, but this is it, then I'm going on a baking hiatus, maybe...
Oh, jeez, I'm salivating already. I think I could live on shortbread. Mmmm, butter...

    Back to the knitting-

  32. I love Autumn (Fall) too. We are having the most beautiful weather - the air smells lovely and the mornings and evenings are cooler. There is a sort of melancholy too - it makes me think of my childhood and my grandparents and things. Now, I off to make some shortbread!

  37. OK, I just finished making (eating) them... (No, my flip flop diet isn't working too well, thanks for asking.) and boy, are they good. I may try lemon-izing them next time. (You know, since those flip flops aren't working anyway...)

  38. I used to be wondering what's up with that bizarre gravatar??? I know 5am is early and I am not looking my best at that hour, however I hope I don't appear to be this! I'd nonetheless make that face if I am asked to do 100 pushups. lol Anyway, in my language, there will not be a lot good supply like this.

  40. Can I make a suggestion? I think youve got something good here. But what if you happen to added a couple links to a page that backs up what youre saying? Or perhaps you could possibly give us something to take a look at, something that might join what youre saying to one thing tangible? Just a suggestion. Anyway, in my language, there will not be much good supply like this.

  43. Daniel, yea I can see what you did there. I actually liked that part, but hehe I'm not that harsh like my dad with these things. Aaanyways, what about you? what does your dad assume xD" Anyway, in my language, there usually are not much good source like this.
