more

So, that little guy saw his shadow, forecasting six more weeks of winter weather.
As a knitter, you've got to admit, that isn't so bad.
Happy days.

Great post and I agree.

I do love winter. No leaves to rake, no flowers to weed/water/worry about, no sunscreen to smear all over whiny kids...and best of all, no having to cram myself into a bathing suit. It's awesome.

I agree. I haven't even gotten through all the winter comfort food recipes that I've collected.

Great photos!

Fresh shipment of sock yarn arrived today.

New York was actually above freezing this afternoon, for the first time in a while. Spring will arrive, snowdrops are abloom in Central Park.

Yet, isn't it fun to keep on knitting that wooly yarn?

Cheers!

You just put an impossible *good* spin on news that put me in a funk all day (yes, I know that even if he didn't see his shadow it would still be winter for more than 6 weeks here in NY)

Nothing beats a day of knitting on a snowy, blustery day. With tea and cookies, of course!

p.s. don't you wish everything in the world had Ravelry features like that?

So true, I wanna feel the sun on my face but I also have to admit that I get a lot of knitting done during those long and cold winters evenings. Btw Lovely pictures

Poshyarns said...

Ha, I know what you mean. I do love the sun but sometimes you just have to accept what you get and settling into the couch with some tweedy yarn is the best way to deal with these things.

I happy to have 6 more weeks, but according to Wikipedia, Phil is only right 39% of the time! But we can knit in all seasons, right?

I'm one of the crazies that doesn't want winter to end, so I'm happy too. Winter is so beautiful, cozy, and most of all woolly!

Gorgeous, gorgeous photos, and an absolutely true sentiment.

Oh but there is nothing like laying on the beach, basking in the sun with sock yarn in your hands. :)

How true!
I am normally not too fond of winter.. I only tolerate it because of christmas!
But this year we now have snow!! - we normally only have snow 2 days a year with snow..
But it suits me brilliantly! - lots of tea and yarn - and a smile to go with that:)

Nothing wrong with a little more winter. Isn't that more sweater wearing time :)

I'm in Marco Island,Florida and haven't seen the sun yet! Getting lots of knitting done. I love how you always see the glass half full, Leslie. You're a better woman than I! Have a great day.

lindy said...

Well, here in Cleveland, no matter what Phil says I know there's at least a month and a half left :). I'm not near starting half the things I want to knit!

So very true

Kathy said...

Well, I love winter even without knitting! I'm always a little sad when winter ends.

Winter is great for knitting. But not so great when school has been canceled for the 6th day in a row! Two hour delay tomorrow... Have a wonderful day!
