getting around

I haven't had the opportunity to meet that many bloggers in "real" life. So, you can only imagine how super excited I was to meet Barb and Heather and hang with them at Knit One. Keana and I have been wanting for that to happen for a pretty long time. It was so much fun, I wish we could have sat there for days knitting and talking. Next time, Keana and I are traveling to see them. Very, very soon.
And guess what? Heather brought me something she KNIT! You can only imagine how thrilled I was. I mean, how often does a knitter get a knit gift? Not often. My mom has made me things in the past. But not for a very long time. Melana made me a gorgeous scarf. (That I wear a lot.) Other than that, this was it. I was speechless. Well, not really. I think I said thank you a bunch, maybe even fought back a tear or two. Even stalked her on the phone on her way home to thank her again.
Since then, that baby has gotten around. It's been to the post office, Trader Joe's, the drug store, the dry cleaners (twice), and stopped by a friend's house.
It's been in the kitchen, the bedroom, the family room, Libby's room (hello! do you have my amazing hand knit gift? I don't think so, missy!).
It's been to the middle school, coffee shop (twice), the stationery store and the car wash.
Yep, I believe this knit is going to get around.
Thank you, Heather. I adore it!!!!

Oh, the places you'll go! (In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday...) It's an exciting life we mommies lead, isn't it? Still, it's nice to be well-dressed for it, and that shawl is beautiful! Sounds like the get-together was fun!

What a wonderful gift. Why is it that we don't give knitted gifts to our knitting friends more often? We've got to change that! Hoping you could tell me if you made your camera strap, if there is a pattern or a site to purchase one? Thank you!

We need to do a girl's getaway to NYC...sounds as if you had a great time! Love the scarf!

What a good time! I just had my first knitting meet-up yesterday. Such a good time, to sit in a coffee shop and talk knitting while actually knitting! Meeting in a yarn shop could be even more fun (and dangerous for the wallet)!

I'm in PA, too (Bucks County), if you're ever looking for a mid-state meet-up!

Leslie--did you make the sweater you are wearing in the photo of you in the closet(I think you are in the closet--not really sure). It's really cute and if you did I would love to know what pattern it is! Love the scarf too--very sweet gift.

Ooo such fun. It's such fun to meet bloggers!

I'm always stumped when it comes to giving a knitter something. Especially when all the yarn I have is prolly 1/8th the value of what he/she has.

But seeing this makes me think a knitted item might just be the ticket no?
