last weeks post. this week.

I wanted to get over here all day Friday. Didn't happen. And since then, have made more progress on Heron with very little knitting. Cause on size 11 needles, this thing practically knits itself.
LOVE the construction of this. Sort of reminds me of the empire waist cardigan, with the top of the sweater worked in one piece.
And the bottom peplum worked separately. In the end, there is very little seaming. Joy!
This was last weeks cookie that I had on my mind ever since I saw Tara's photo. Chewy Coconut Cookies. Obviously you have to like coconut. A hit with two out of three of my kids. They were fabulous and we felt as if they brought a little tropical flare to our days. A good thing during this time of the year.
Happy Monday!

The Heron has a very interesting construction - I look forward to seeing it finished up. What yarn are you using?

Looking good! I echo your joy about little seaming. I just learned how to do three needle bindoff to attach the front to the back or my cardi and now I'm working my sleeves on circs. I'll be left only to seam the sides. That makes me efficient, not lazy, right?

Heron! I had such fun knitting it, and I love wearing it, too! Enjoy yours.

My one and only dd doesn't like coconut but these sound yummy to me :) Love the knitting too. I've been doing quite a lot but just haven't taken pics to post about it!

baking the cookies right now! i was wondering while i was making the dough, what if you added lemon extract instead of vanilla or maybe almond? a lemony coconut cookie sounds good too :) next time i'm going to try it.

Oh, that's so funny - when I saw the pic I thought "Oh, she's making another Provence!" But no. Though I am, now that I mention it. Another, that is. Provence, I mean. Another one I owe to you. Cuz that is a GREAT sweater. Speaking of great - I LOVE coconut; can't wait to make those cookies - they look GREAT.

Heron definitely looks like something I would love. I almost always need my sweaters to be low-finishing in order to have a chance of getting to wear them!

So...totally off of the subject of your beautiful and clever sweater..I am thinking of buying a dress form. I noticed that you have one and wondered how you go about picking. I saw one on Amazon that had good reviews, but how do you go about sizing? Do you buy it in a size close to yours and cinch it in somehow? I'm confused and hope that you might help. It's time that my sweaters fit the way I want.
p.s. My new inside doors have not been painted either..I've gotten to like the primed off white look of them.

I needed to know about Eyeblog almost as much as I needed these cookies. YEARS, I've been searching for a coconut specimen, and don't these look like just the thing? Danke!

hi susan! i hope you check back here as i have no way of contacting you. AND, i also have very little info as far as the dress form. my dress form is my grandmothers! so pretty old. i do know you buy it in a size close to yours, and then some are adjustable so that you can size them to fit you.
good luck. and have fun!
