-The yarn was a dream to work with. One of the softest, ever.
-The cables kept it totally interesting. Most of my projects lately have been all knit in stockinette. So this was a welcome change. I like to make charts and cross things off. This fit the bill.
-On size 10.5 needles it was quick.
-Plymouth patterns: What can I say. Love them. You can buy one pattern. The pattern is so well written. Very easy to follow. Every bit of information (abbreviations, etc.) is written right in the pattern. So you never have to use another reference to look something up.
-I love it.
Yarn: Baby Alpaca Grande Tweed, 9 balls, #1208
Needles: US 8 & US 10.5
Size: 36 3/4
Modifications: None.
I'll be back tomorrow.
Happy Thursday!

I love it, and I am afraid of cables...thanks for the encouragment to give them a try!
LOVE this! The color is perfect, and it looks so nice on you. I think this pattern is going on my list :-)
Love it! The color is delicious and the large chunky cables look wonderful!
Wow! That's a cuuuute sweater -- and it looks perfect on you!
Beautiful. I have to go check out this pattern. Oh and the color is wonderful. Love the buttons you chose as well!
It looks gorgeous Leslie, I love the beautiful Fall/orange color.
Love the chunky cables and the warm colour!
That is one fabulous sweater!
Gorgeous! Love the color.
what a fantastic sweater!! It looks so warm and cozy, and the colour is so pretty. Awesome job!!
I was just thinking the other day about how you love Plymouth patterns so much. I've been thinking about something cable-y too.
Love both the yarn and pattern - the sweater is beautiful! Cables were something I had hesitated on for so long just because they looked complicated. But, they truly are so easy - and addictive - everyone should give them a try.
I love the sweater and color! I'm a new knitter, but have been wanting to try cables. This sweater is probably too complex for me, but I'm putting it on my list anyways.
Beautiful. And a great fall color.
ok. this does it. i am going to have to buy that apple green yarn and just make this. it looks beautiful on you, leslie!
Does anything ever NOT look good on you? Seriously. That is so pretty. Perfect for fall. I like the 3/4 sleeves to show of a tee (or some Toasts?). So nice!
Wow, that is a beautiful sweater! I will admit, I was terrified of cables. I made it my New Years resolution for 2009 to tackle them, and, you are right--they are easy peasy, and fun to boot!! I bet you can't wait for some cooler weather, so you can wear this knit all the time.
Wow, I love that sweater. I'm not afraid of cables, although I used to be. Nonknitters think they are so complicated (I used to too) but you're right, they are the simplest way to make something look difficult!
Just got my yarn and pattern yesterday from my LYS. I went and ordered it right after seeing it on your post! Yours turned out BEAUTIFUL! Hope I have good luck with knitting mine. I've done alittle cable work and it is fun, looks impressive, but very easy! Your always an inspiration! Thank you!!
Beautiful sweater! I love the color.
It's beautiful! You always make it look easy.
Oh I love this and how it looks on you! What a beautiful fall color. Great job!
Holy cow, is that cute! I love the neckline -- unusual for a cabled sweater (and very flattering).
It's gorgeous, and I love that colour. Great job, it's very flattering.
What a gorgeous sweater. Cables are something that others have been encouraging me to try and this may be the boost I need.
Love it, love the colors, love the cables! It's a treat to see handknit sweaters that make me say "Oooh, I'd wear that everywhere!"
STUNNING! You are such a fast talented knitter. I'm so ready for fall as well. Warm weather ... be GONE!
Well, finally I have found a knitting blog that really interests me. Love the sweaters and the most recent caught my eye. I work backwards...yes...and started with cables fairly early on. I have never heard of "Plymouth" patterns but I am looking for more challenging pieces...and quick is a bonus. I will keep popping in. Check out my fairly new blog...http://allthingsmaggieo.blogspot.com/
Perfect.
Beautiful!! Love the color, cables, buttons and pattern. 100% hit for me. Thanks for inspiration to add to my que.
Wow! You are amazing at cranking out the most gorgeous sweaters. The color is perfect for autumn.
That is one cute sweater. :)
That's lovely!
It's perfect. So squishy looking (in a good way). And that shade is so pretty with your fair colouring.
I agree, cables are NOT hard, but fun!
Stunning and I love the color. I love cables too but working on the GAA I have to say that there are times when I get very sick of them. But they always look impressive, don't they?
The sweater is gorgeous and you look fab!
Lovely cardigan and the color is perfect.
Pefectly lovely! now I'm craving pumpkin and cool days!
love it...I stayed away from cabling for a while because I thought it was hard. After my first project though...I was like that was it! Love the pattern and love the yummy color!
I love that!! The color is fabulous. Maybe I can make it once I'm no longer nursing and the girls go back to their proper size.
Love the cables, love the color, love the sweater!
Every time I do something with cables I remember that there isn't anything about them to be afraid of! This sweater looks marvelous - excellent color, lovely fit! Love it!
I'm not afraid of cables but haven't had the opportunity to try them yet! Like you, I've been in a bit of a stockinette rut. (And to make it worse, a stockinette-in-the-round rut. Please, a purl stitch? Just one?)
I'm thinking the next pair of socks will be my entry into the wonderful world of cables--unless I decide to modify a cardi pattern that I'm planning to make!
Oh wow, that's gorgeous!
I saw this pattern on their website and thought, ugh. But, it looks so cute on you with the long sleeve tee and jeans. You make this cardigan look great! =]
I love the color and the buttons your choose. It's a lovely sweater!
The color is wonderful. .I love those cables!!!!
I love, love this sweater! The color is so beautiful. Looks great!
This is beautiful, as your knits always are. I love cables and was quite surprised how easy they were to do my first time.
Love the color! The whole piece is just beautiful! Great job!
How lovely. Oh, so perfect for Fall!
Love the color! And just gorgeous pattern. The yarn is a dream to work with, too.
Love it! I like it much better on you than the way it looks in the pattern...can't really say why. Gorgeous color, and I really like the buttons too!
Looooove cables!! But I finally just got the pattern for the Heron...now this????? hmmmm....I may whip this one up first. Thanks for sharing :)
Okay, this is gorgeous! Just stunning.
As always, it takes me seeing something on you to see just how awesome it is - and the color could not be better! Very nice!
Really beautiful - and you're so fast!! :o)
LOVE IT! especially the color! I have a belt just like that. silpada? Happy weekend almost!
I don't know if it's the color or the cables, but the first thought on viewing the photo was "Wow!" Thanks for the encouragement to go forth and cable. I haven't attempted those yet, but now I'm thinking I will have to give them a whirl!
Ooooh, pretty! I love it!
You are so adorable! And you have a knack for picking projects--what a good eye you have!
My first thought was, "Didn't she just unpack that yarn?" You are fast and wonderful. Your project and encouragement are once again enough to make me want to tackle something a little out of my comfort zone. I just wish I could knit in my sleep. My queue is getting longer and longer!
Cables are wonderful. I love how that looks, and it looks much faster than the cabled project I have on the needles.
Love this look on you! BTW, you seem to wear a lot of white long sleeve tees in your photos.. What is your favorite brand? Your photos are awesome.. thanks for the inspiration.

I can't believe how set for fall you already are! This is truly gorgeous. The green and now this orange, are both really great colors for you. What is next on the knitting agenda? Can't wait...~Jan
Beautiful cardi! Yours looks even better than the pattern photo -- more fitted and flattering.
Great combination of color and pattern! I never usually imagine garments in orange, but your projects are starting to change my mind...
