L O V E this hat.

You know it's a good one when a couple of twelve year olds walk by you and say, "Cool hat, Mrs. Friend".
The pattern was fun, easy and a pretty quick knit. Nichole knit a couple of super cute variations. The possibilities are endless, really. It uses Classic Elite's Fresco. My first time working with this yarn which was super soft. I ordered the yarn from Sarah at Knot Another Hat. (I have told you how fast she gets her yarn to you, haven't I?) It may seem a little pricey, but you will have enough yarn to make three hats. So, there you go. You'll have three gifts or three new hats for yourself or one for yourself and two for your friends or special someone or kids or...
Happy November!

Very cute hat!! I need to knit one up for my 20 year old daughter. She can be picky about things, but I know she will love one of these!!

  3. I do believe you need an awesome cape...perhaps with a collar versus a hood...to go with that super cool hat, Mrs. Friend! That's been my latest creative endeavor and oh so fun! :)

You know it's much more than a fashion statement, don't you, when these impressionable young people admire something you've made of your hands? I do believe you inspire them in more ways than one.

    Happy November!

  7. Knot Another Hat is my favorite yarn store ever! Leslie, If you ever find yourself in Portland, Oregon, I will personally drive you up to Hood River (a 45 minute drive) so we can hang at the shoppe, knit on the comfiest couch with the most incredible view of the Columbia River Gorge teeming with windsurfers, and lunch at the best cafes (with the same amazing views!). Nicest people and yummiest yarn!

  8. You know how when you see a prepared recipe in a cookbook or a photo of a knit pattern it always looks better than your handmade end product? No, I know you don't know, because your knits always look better than the pattern. How do you do it? :)
