hooray for pom poms

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

I love the year I made a lot of my Christmas gifts. I sewed a quilt and coasters. I knit hats, mitts, a throw  and coordinating sweaters for the children. There was a lot of time spent on hand making. It was GREAT.
This year, I made one.

That one took me an entire year to cut and sew after purchasing the materials.  And about 30 minutes from start to finish.  Oh boy.
The materials were purchased from Purl Soho and the tutorial is on Purl bee. (Materials are listed in the tutorial.) Super easy.  Super quick.   Pretty darn cute.
When I flipped through my instagram and found this?  Well, it pretty much made my day.

  4. Very cute! I am in awe of anyone who manages any handmade Christmas presents, I am such a slow knitter but a most excellent procrastinator.

  5. Wow, that's pretty! I have the Purl Soho pom-pom gingham scarf in my to-make queue, but I hadn't seen the cowl version. The cowl is definitely more elegant.
