we went to michigan

It was our first time to Upper Michigan.  I certainly hope it's not our last.  What a special spot.
We rented a suburban and hit the road.  I knit all the way there and then didn't pick up my needles once over the course of 4 days.  I soaked it all in and if anything was in my hands it was my camera.
 Frankfort Lighthouse.
Sleeping bear dunes. Jumping is mandatory.
 Flipping into Lake Michigan.
At Point Betsie Lighthouse.  The sunsets are epic.
Point Betsie Lighthouse.

And the Michiganders?  Some of the most gracious of hosts. And so darn proud of their state.  I would be, too.

Hope your fireworks were the most beautiful you have ever seen.
Happy weekend!

It is always a treat to see the world through the lens of your camera.

Here in Ontario, Canada we get inundated with Michigan travel ads. I've never looked into it but your shots are making me change my mind. Michigan in 2015 is a serious option! thanks for the nudge.

So glad you enjoyed your trip to Michigan!

I grew up in Michigan and am happy to be living here again after 12 years in South Carolina and Illinois. It is a beautiful place.

Love your pictures! My aunt and uncle lived in Beulah and had cottages for rent on Crystal Lake. All the places you posted in your pictures are so well known to me and my siblings!! Love it and miss it so much!

I love the UP. I also remember having lots of wonderful cherry pie and homemade pasties. Yum. And really nice people.

So glad to see your photos in Frankfort, Sleeping Bear Dunes and Point Betsie; I have lots of rocks from Lake Michigan in my backyard. My husband's family has a cottage on big Platt Lake and we have vacationed there for many, many years. We also go to Traverse City a couple times a year. So happy you were able to enjoy.

Love it! This is so far from us, that your photos are likely the only visit I'll ever have.

We Michiganders love our state...especially if you are up north or in the Detroit are (not necessarily Detroit proper, but the Metro Detroit area. We love it even with our horrible winters, summer is awesome on the lake...any lake :)
